Our Team

The pilots

The pilots of the Compagnie des Ballons come from the region’s leisure aviation world and therefore have a perfect knowledge of local aerology.

Mountain flying being more precise and complex than plain flying, this specific knowledge is a real asset for the Compagnie des Ballons.

Accustomed to local customers and tourists passing through our region, pilots know how to adapt their flights to the customers they are carrying. Their knowledge of local geography allows them to comment on the flight by indicating the peaks, refuges, beautiful walks to do,…

The drivers

Without the drivers, the customers of the Compagnie des balloons would never be able to return to the starting point.

They assist the pilot throughout the preparation of the flight, from balloon inflation to nacelle takeoff.

During the flight, they are in permanent radio contact with the pilot and follow the balloon throughout the trip.

On landing, they are present to receive the hot air balloon and actively participate in folding the envelope and storing the basket on the 4×4 trailer.

Finally, they drive passengers to their vehicles by listening to stories of amazing journeys.

Michel is the creator of the Compagnie des Ballons.

Always passionate about the air world, he decided to settle in the Annecy region.

Married and father of 3 children, he applies to his hot air balloon company what he has always privileged and which have ensured his success and his notoriety: professionalism, listening and respect for the customer, strict application of regulations, quality and safety.

Michel discovered the world of hot air ballooning when he was stationed in the Loire Valley as a customer and amazed spectator.

Now retired, Michel will be there to back up when the team needs his support.

Quentin, after having been a crew member for the Compagnie des Ballons for many years, he decided to take his hot air balloon pilot’s license.

He is now at the controls of the Company’s 3 balloons.

When he is not flying, Quentin takes care of his hives and sells a renowned honey in the region. He took over production from his grandfather, Maurice PUTHOD.

You can also find it on the markets of Annecy-le-Vieux on Wednesday mornings as well as at La Balme de Sillingy on Sundays.

Do not hesitate to ask him questions about bees or hot air balloons, he is passionate!

Victor, a young pilot is the youngest of the team but also co-manager of the company.

Currently a pro pilot, after having been in training for several years, he will accompany you aboard the basket of one of our three balloons.

His good humor and his heightened sense of hospitality and service will contribute to the magic of the trip.
